Intro
Paul has been a guitarist for more than 50 years. The last decade has been spent pursuing the study of classical guitar music. Some things are done just for the daily practice and joy that can be had and shared with others.
If you live in Everett, Washington, it's possible you might have heard Paul at a park, a nursing home, a senior home, a farmers market, or community event. While Paul no longer pursues paid performances, he will play in the Everett community occasionally at open mics and neighborhood parks.
Work
Paul's work has included studying classical composers, learning to perform music by famous composers, and scoring and recording new compositions in classical styles of Etudes, Waltzes and Sonatas.
Some of his favorite composers include J.S. Bach, Matteo Carcassi, and Francisco Tarrega. Classical Guitarsts have contemporary heros too. Not Eddie Van Halen or Jimi Hendrix, but names like John Williams, Andre Segovia, and Julian Bream. If you'd like to hear Paul's work, it can be found on most major streaming services like Spotify.

Lessons
Recorded Podcast Audio Lessons
Paul produces a weekly guitar practice lesson that you can use to improve your playing skills. The lessons focus on rudimentary skills, music theory, and techniques that will actually make you a better and more knowledgable guitar player.
The live recorded lesson airs by a podcast stream and the content changes weekly. It's a great way to practice. You can listen to the lesson and practice with Paul over and over again all week long! It's very inexpensive compared to live lesson options.
It's recommended that you can SPEAK GUITAR in order to benefit from these lessons.
If you're a beginner and can play 3 chords, this isn't for you yet! Please go find a local live instructor for lessons for at least a year.
Ideally you should be at least an intermediate level. You don't have to read music, but you should know the guitar neck and know some basics of music theory. You should know what a barre is, fingers 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the left hand, and p, i, m, and a on the right hand, you should be able to find the 3rd, 7th, 10th, and 12th fret, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th string and if you think about it you should be able to tell someone the name of every note on the neck.
You won't learn to play any songs in these lessons. But if you are serious about improving your playing skills this is for you. Subject matter covered will include things like octaves, thirds, triads, inversions, scales: major, natural minor, melodic minor, harmonic minor, technique: hammer-ons, pull-offs, natural and artificial harmonics, right-hand technique, free and rest strokes, tremelo technique, etc.
If you don't have any idea what any of this is, please go find a local instructor for live lessons. If you do know some of this, and you feel like your playing is stuck doing the same things over and over without progressing, then you will benefit from these lessons!

Now you can listen to Classical Guitar Underground Radio at 88.7 on your FM dial in Everett, WA. We are experimenting with a legal unlicensed PART 15 (Extremely low power) FM transmission. If you live or come by the Glacier View neighborhood in Everett, WA. you might be able to pick us up on your FM radio on 88.7 FM. A sensitive car radio might be able to pick up our broadcast between Mikie's and the Weinersnitzel on Evergreen Way. Our unlicensed station operates with an FCC Part 15 Transmitter ID: 2AAR8TR508. It's not a pirate broadcast, we adhere to FCC regulations regarding Part 15 unlicensed broadcast for FM and have a measured field strength of 200 microvolts/meter at a distance of 3 meters from the antenna to comply with those regulations. Being experimental, we do try to keep it running, but it might be off the air at times.
